Heat Pump Installation – Kumeū, Huapai & West Auckland

1

Vine Electrical supplies, installs and services heat pumps and air conditioning – mainly Fujitsu, plus Toshiba and Mitsubishi Electric – for homes and businesses in Kumeū, Huapai, Riverhead, Waimauku, Taupaki and right across Auckland.

Because we’re electricians, one team looks after the whole job: helping you pick the right size unit, finding the best spot for the indoor and outdoor units, running the power, and sorting out your switchboard if it needs it. No juggling a heat pump company and a separate sparky.

Brands We Install

Most of our installs are Fujitsu. They’ve been keeping Kiwi homes warm for more than 25 years – quiet, efficient and reliable, with a range that covers everything from a single bedroom to a whole house, and good local support if anything ever needs attention.

We also supply and install Toshiba and Mitsubishi Electric heat pumps, so if you’ve already got a brand in mind, or want to match a unit you already have, we can help.

From 2026 you may also see them sold as GENERAL Airstage. That’s just Fujitsu General’s new company name – same heat pumps, same people behind them.

Heat Pumps We Install

  • High-wall heat pumps – the standard split system for lounges, bedrooms and open-plan living areas
  • Floor consoles – sit low on the wall, ideal under windows or where there’s no room up high
  • Ducted heat pumps – whole-home heating and cooling through discreet ceiling vents, run from one controller
  • Multi-room systems – one outdoor unit running two or more indoor units, so there’s less clutter outside

Getting the Size and Spot Right

A heat pump that’s too small runs flat out and still leaves the room cold; one that’s too big wastes money. We look at the room size, ceiling height, insulation and glazing, then recommend the right capacity and where the units should go: good airflow inside, and the outdoor unit somewhere tidy and away from bedroom windows.

Older homes and lifestyle properties sometimes need a new circuit or a switchboard upgrade to run a heat pump properly. We’ll tell you up front if yours does.

New Builds & Renovations

Building or renovating? Plan the heat pump in at pre-wire stage and we can hide the cabling and pipework inside the walls for a much cleaner finish. Ducted systems are easiest to install while the ceiling is open. See our new build and renovation services.

Heat Pump Servicing & Cleaning

Dust, mould and blocked filters make a heat pump work harder, cost more to run and smell musty. We service and clean heat pumps to keep them running efficiently:

  • Indoor unit clean, including filters, coil and fan
  • Drain check so it doesn’t drip down the wall
  • Outdoor unit check and clean
  • Electrical connections and performance checked

Run It on Solar

Heat pumps pair really well with solar panels, especially for daytime heating and summer cooling. Our sister company Vine Solar designs and installs solar and battery systems.

NEED A HEAT PUMP INSTALLED OR SERVICED?

    Common Questions

    1

What size heat pump do I need?

It depends on the room size, ceiling height, insulation and how much glass there is. We’ll measure up and recommend the right size as part of your free quote.

    Is it Fujitsu or GENERAL?

Both. Fujitsu General changed its company name to GENERAL in 2026, so newer models may carry the GENERAL Airstage name. They’re the same heat pumps.

    Do you only install Fujitsu?

No. Fujitsu is what we install most, but we also supply and install Toshiba and Mitsubishi Electric heat pumps.

Will my switchboard handle a heat pump?

Most do, but older boards can be full or out of date. We check this before we quote, and can upgrade it at the same time if needed.

How often should a heat pump be serviced?

Clean the filters yourself every few weeks when it’s working hard, and get a full service every year or two – more often near the coast or on dusty rural properties.

Do you do commercial heat pumps?

Yes. We install heat pumps in offices, shops and workshops as well as homes.
